Circuit/System Description
The driver information center (DIC) switch is controlled by the IPC. Power and ground is provided to the DIC from the instrument panel cluster. The IPC also provides power to the DIC switch and the DIC switch signal circuit is pulled up to battery voltage in the IPC. The DIC switch input to the DIC is grounded when a switch is activated. The IPC monitors the DIC switch signal circuit to determine the DIC switch inputs.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the IPC.
2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the IPC ground circuit and ground.
• If greater than 1 ohm, test the ground reference circuit for an open/high resistance.
3. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates when connected between the IPC battery positive voltage circuit and ground.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the battery positive voltage circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
Repair Instructions
