Emblem/Nameplate Replacement (Rear Compartment Lid)
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Hold a heat gun 152 mm (6 in) from the emblem or the nameplate to apply heat for about 30 seconds while moving the heat gun in a circular motion.
2. Use a flat-bladed tool to peel the emblem or the nameplate from the rear compartment lid while taking care not to damage the paint surface.
3. Use a suitable solvent of isopropyl alcohol 50/50 mixture by volume with water or a high-flash naphtha to clean the area.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Ensure the new emblem or the new nameplate is 26°C (80°F) minimum or 6°C (10°F) above the ambient air temperature, whichever is higher.
2. Do NOT exceed 40°C (105°F) during the installation Procedure.
3. Remove the backing from the new emblem or the new nameplate.
IMPORTANT: Position the emblem or the nameplate carefully on the vehicle. The emblem or the nameplate cannot be moved after contact with the vehicle.
4. Press the emblem or the nameplate into place.
5. Apply constant pressure for 30 seconds.
