Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Remove the TXV from the evaporator.
3. Remove the steering column.
4. Remove the brake pedal with the bracket.
5. Remove the evaporator:
^ Plug the fittings in order to prevent oil from dripping on the interior trim.
^ Carefully pull out the evaporator.

Installation Procedure

1. Carefully install the evaporator into the module in order to prevent damage to the cooling tans.
2. Install the brake pedal with the bracket.
3. Install the steering column.
4. Install the TXV.
5. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system.
6. Leak test the serviced A/C system connections.
