Removal
1. Disconnect the seat belt latch from the buckle on the center seat belt. (1998 vehicles only).2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Figure 1.
3. Remove the rear seat-back outer cushions.
4. Remove the rear headrests. Refer to Figure 2.
5. Remove the rear headrest retainers from the rear seat-to-back window trim panel.
6. Remove the rear center seat belt retractor cover and retractor. (1998 vehicles only).
7. Remove the rear seat side belt outer retractors (Refer to Figure 3):
^ Pull the belt until the excess is off of the spool.
^ Secure the belt to prevent belt retraction.
^ Remove the retractor bolts.
8. Remove the RH side rear seat-back outer cushion wheel well insulator (1). Refer to Figure 4.
9. Remove the speaker grilles (5) (if equipped). Refer to Figure 5.
10. Remove the folding rear seat-back anchor covers (3) from the rear seat-to-back window trim panel. Refer to Figure 5.
11. Pull the edge trim down from the opening to the trunk.
12. Remove the rear center arm rest anchor pin (4) from the rear seat-to-back window trim panel. Refer to Figure 5.
13. Remove the 3 "Christmas Tree" pins from the rear seat-to-back window trim panel. Refer to Figure 6.
14. Remove the rear air vent from the rear seat-to-back window trim panel.
15. From inside the trunk, remove the rear sunshade nuts from the rear seat-to-back window panel (1998 vehicles only - if equipped).
16. From inside the trunk, release the 3 rear seat-to-back window trim panel plastic pins.
17. Disconnect the rear sunshade electrical connector (1998 vehicles only - if equipped).
18. Remove the rear seat-to-back window trim panel.
19. Remove the antenna amplifier (2) (2 screws (1), 3 connectors). Refer to Figure 7.
20. Cut the end of the old antenna cable from the existing wire harness.
21. Remove the RH side carpet retainer screw covers. Refer to Figure 8.
22. Remove the RH side center pillar lower trim piece. Refer to Figure
9.
23. Remove the RH side seat track cover (1 screw). Refer to Figure 10.
24. Remove the RH side carpet retainer (7 screws). Refer to Figure 8.
25. Remove the RH side front kick panel (2 screws).
26. Remove the radio bezel (Refer to Figure 11):
^ Remove the Traction Control and Hazard switch covers.
^ Remove the switch screw covers and the trunk, fuel door and heated seat (if equipped) switches.
^ Remove the ashtray.
^ Remove the radio bezel (4 screws).
^ Remove the electrical connectors from the radio bezel.
27. Remove the radio and Electronic Climate Control (ECC) head (6 screws). DO NOT disconnect the radio and the ECC head electrical connectors.
28. Disconnect the antenna cable (1) from the back of the radio. Refer to Figure 12.
29. Cut the old antenna cable end from the existing wire harness.
