Low Engine Coolant

The low coolant warning lamp is controlled by the low coolant switch. The low coolant switch is located in the coolant reservoir. The switch consists of a floating device and a reed contact that is normally switched to ground when the coolant level is in the normal operating range. When the coolant level goes below the minimum level, the reed contacts open signaling the gauge cluster to ground the indicator bulb.
