Battery Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Open the electrical center cover and disconnect the electrical center from the battery.
2. Open the battery isolator.
3. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
3.1. Loosen the clamp bolts.
3.2. Use a twisting motion to release the clamp.
3.3. Use a universal puller if the clamp does not easily release.
4. Disconnect the positive cable from the battery:
4.1. Loosen the clamp bolts.
4.2. Use a twisting motion to release the clamp.
4.3. Use a universal puller if the clamp does not easily release.
5. Remove the battery isolator.
6. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt (1).
7. Remove the retainer (2).
8. Remove the battery (3).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the battery (3).
2. Install the battery hold down retainer (2).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the battery hold down retainer bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the battery hold down retainer bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

4. Install the battery isolator.
5. Connect the battery positive cable.

Tighten
Tighten the battery positive cable bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

6. Connect the battery negative cable.

Tighten
Tighten the battery negative cable bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

7. Close the battery isolator.
8. Connect the electrical center over the battery and close the cover.
