HVAC Control Module Replacement
HVAC CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the radio.
2. Remove the ashtray.
3. Remove the HVAC control module screws.
4. Disconnect the HVAC control module electrical connectors.
5. Remove the HVAC control module.
Continue with the following procedures if servicing the:
^ HVAC control indicator bulbs.
^ HVAC control bracket.
^ Printed Circuit Board (PCB).
6. Remove the HVAC control module from the bracket:
6.1. Depress the tabs (1) on the side of the control face to release the HVAC control module from the bracket.
6.2. Slide the HVAC control module out of the bracket.
7. Using a flat-bladed tool, turn the HVAC control indicator bulbs counterclockwise to remove.
8. Remove the PCB from the HVAC control module.
9. Remove the ribbon from the HVAC control module.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. If serviced install the following:
^ PCB to the HVAC control module.
^ Ribbon to the HVAC control module.
^ HVAC control indicator bulbs.
2. Perform the following steps to install the HVAC control module to the bracket:
2.1. Slide the PCB into the slot.
2.2. Snap the HVAC control face into the bracket.
3. Install the HVAC control module.
4. Connect the HVAC control module electrical connectors.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install the HVAC control module screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).
6. Install the ashtray.
7. Install the radio.
8. Program the HVAC control with a scan tool, by selecting the programming procedure from the Air Conditioning Special Functions menu and follow the instructions on the screen.
