System Diagnosis
System Diagnosis
1. To test the wiper/washer motor module, follow this procedure: With connectors C1, C2, and C3 still attached to the wiper/washer motor module, measure the voltage to ground at each terminal below, with the ignition switch in the "Accy." The voltage should be zero in all other switch positions not listed.
Voltage, Wiper/Washer Motor Module Connectors:
2. Make a resistance measurement from terminal B of C1 to ground. Turn ignition switch "OFF" and disconnect negative battery terminal
Resistance:
- If any of the voltages or resistances are incorrect, check the wire attached to that terminal. If the wires attached to the wiper/washer switch assembly are good, replace the wiper/washer switch assembly.
- If all of the voltages and resistances are correct, replace the wiper/washer motor module.
3. To test the washer pump motor, follow this procedure: With the connector still attached to the washer pump motor, make the following voltage measurements to ground. The voltage should be zero in all other switch positions not listed.
Voltage, Washer Pump Motor:
- If voltage is not present at terminal, check wire back to the wiper/washer motor module. If wire is good, test the module as in steps 1 and 2.
- If voltage is present at terminal A, but motor will not work, check the continuity of terminal B to ground. If the ground is good, replace the washer pump motor.
