The manual and automatic transaxle each has its own code location and explanation.


MANUAL TRANSAXLE

Four Speed 76mm

The code is stamped on a diagonal case surface directly beneath the clutch lever cable reaction bracket.

The Muncie 76mm stamp consists of two (2) alpha and three (3) numeric characters as shown below:

The code is located on a stamped metal tag adjacent to the shifter shaft on the transaxle.

The stamp is one of two formats as shown below, depending on manufacturing location:

The THM 125/125C transmission is built at Ypsilanti, MI and Windsor, Canada. Transmissions built at Ypsilanti, MI use serial numbers; and beginning 1985 model year, Julian dates have been added to the nameplate. Transmissions built at Windsor, Canada use Julian dates. However, the transmission identification tag location is the same.
