Radio/Stereo: Service and Repair

When installing radio, be sure to adjust antenna trimmer for peak reception. Also, be sure to connect speaker before applying power to radio.



CAMARO
1982---88 Exc. 1984---86 Berlinetta

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove three console bezel and four radio to console attaching screws.
3. Pull radio outward and disconnect electrical connector, then remove radio.
4. Reverse procedure to install.



1984---86 Berlinetta

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove 4 retaining screws from console trim plate, raise shift lever trim panel and position aside, leaving electrical connectors connected.
3. Remove 4 screws securing radio control head to bracket.
4. Remove control head, pulling back on spring pawl while lifting control, then disconnect electrical connector to control.
5. Remove screws securing radio receiver.
6. Disconnect antenna and electrical connectors, then remove receiver.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
