Shift Indicator - A/T: Testing and Inspection

Disconnect the electronic control module (ECM) connector C3 and jumper terminal 6 (TAN/BLK) to ground. Turn the ignition switch to the Run position and observe the SHIFT indicator.

1. If the indicator lights, see the section on ECM diagnosis under COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS.

2. If the indicator does not light, check the TAN/BLK (456) wire for an open. If good, then replace the instrument cluster.
