Tachometer: Testing and Inspection

Disconnect connector C1 at the computer controlled coil ignition. Plug the J-33431-B instrument panel tester to a wall outlet and connect the J-33431-10 I/P tester harness connector to connector C1 terminal A and ground. Set the controls to ON and 54 mph.

1. If the tachometer reads 1800 rpm (L4) or 1350 rpm (V6 VIN W), the tachometer is good. Check the connections at C100 to be sure they are clean and tight.

2. If the tachometer does not read correctly, check the WHT(121) wire for an open. If good the replace the tachometer.
