Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Relieve fuel system pressure, then disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then remove fuel tank.
3. Remove fuel lever sending unit and pump assembly by turning cam lock ring counterclockwise. Lift assembly from fuel tank, then remove fuel pump from fuel lever sending unit.
4. Pull fuel pump up to attaching hose or pulsator while pulling outward away from bottom support. After pump assembly is clear of bottom support, remove assembly from rubber connector or pulsator. Use caution not to damage rubber insulator and strainer during removal.

INSTALLATION

1. Reverse procedure to install.
