Parts, Service Procedure, Campaign Label & Claim Information

PARTS INFORMATION

Parts required to complete this campaign are to be obtained from General Motors Service Parts Operations (GMSPO). To ensure these parts will be obtained as soon as possible, they should be ordered from GMSPO on a "C.I.O." order with no special instruction code, but on an advise code (2).

94333533 Fuel Tank Kit 1


NOTE: Kit P/N 94333533 consists of the following:

(1) 94331575 - Fuel Tank Assy.
(1) 94055980 - Fuel Pump Gasket
(1) 94055981 - Tank Meter Unit Gasket
(13) 94003375 - Screw, M5 X 0.8 X 10 Pan Hd C/R


SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove negative battery cable.

2. Remove fuel filler cap.

3. Drain fuel tank per 1987 Spectrum Service Manual Page 6C-4.

4. Disconnect sending unit wire from fuel tank terminal and fuel pump wire from pump terminal.

5. Disconnect fuel filler pipe and breather hose from fuel tank.

6. Disconnect fuel feed hose from fuel feed pipe (part of fuel tank assembly) at front, left hand corner of fuel tank.

7. Remove four (4) fuel tank mounting bolts and remove fuel tank from vehicle.

8. To remove fuel pump: Disconnect fuel pump hose from fuel feed pipe leaving hose connected to fuel pump outlet pipe. Retain clip for reuse. Remove eight (8) fuel pump retaining screws and remove fuel pump from tank.

9. To remove fuel tank meter unit: Remove five (5) fuel tank meter unit retaining screws and remove meter unit.
SERVICE PROCEDURE


10. Install fuel pump and meter unit into new fuel tank assembly (part of Kit P/N 94333533) using new screws and gaskets provided in kit by following Steps 8 and 9 in reverse order.

11. Install new fuel tank into vehicle and reconnect electrical wiring to fuel pump and meter unit.

12. Reconnect fuel feed hose to fuel feed pipe (part of fuel tank assembly) at front, left hand corner of fuel tank.

13. Reconnect fuel filler pipe and breather hose to fuel tank, reconnect battery negative cable to battery, refill tank with fuel drained in Step 3, reinstall fuel filler cap.

14. Render old fuel tank unusable and discard.

15. Install Campaign Identification Label.



CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL

Each vehicle corrected in accordance with the instructions outlined in this Product Campaign Bulletin will require a "Campaign Identification Label". Each label provides a space to include the five (5) digit dealer code of the dealer performing the campaign service. This information may be inserted with a typewriter or ballpoint pen.
Each "Campaign Identification Label" is to be located on the radiator core support in an area which will be visible when the vehicle is brought in for periodic servicing by the owner.

Apply "Campaign Identification Label" only on a clean dry surface.

* Campaign Administrative Allowance

** The "Parts Allowance" should be the sum total of the current GMSPO Dealer Net price plus 30% of all parts required for the repair.

Dealers will automatically receive the correct labor and material allowance based an the labor operation performed.
