Parts, Service Procedure, Campaign Label & Claim Information
PARTS INFORMATIONParts required to complete this campaign are to be obtained from General Motors Service Parts Operations (GMSPO). To ensure these parts will be obtained as soon as possible, they should be ordered from GMSPO on a "C.I.O." order with no special instruction code, but on an advise code (2).

SERVICE PROCEDURE
VEHICLES WITH DECK LID CARRIER OR CENTER HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP ON DECK LID
1. Raise deck lid and disconnect four-wire connector just ahead of left (drivers side) deck lid hinge (outboard of radio speaker).
2. On underside of deck lid, across rear, unclip three (3) male/female connectors from sheet metal edges of three (3) holes. In hole which has rear compartment lamp, also remove harness clip. All four (4) clips are silver colored. Disconnect two (2) connections to back-up/license plate lamp jumpers and the connection to center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL) jumper.
3. Remove harness from clips on left hinge and fish it out through hole on deck lid at left reflectors (outboard of left back-up lamp).
A piece of string tied to harness being removed will speed installation of replacement harness through deck lid.
4. Install new harness (P/N 12083282) in deck lid.
5. Reconnect all connections, snap all four (4) silver clips on to sheet metal edges and place harness in clips on hinge.
6. Check for proper operation of center high mounted stop lamp, back-up lamp and license plate lamps.
7. Install Campaign Identification Label.
VEHICLES WITHOUT DECK LID CARRIER OR CENTER HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP ON DECK LID
1. Raise deck lid and disconnect the four-wire connector just ahead of left (drivers side) deck lid hinge (outboard of radio speaker).
2. On underside of deck lid, across rear, unclip (2) male/female connectors from sheet metal edges of two (2) holes. In hole which has rear compartment lamp, also remove harness clip. All three (3) clips are silver colored. Disconnect two (2) connections to back-up/license plate lamp jumpers.
3. Enter passenger compartment, pull cover off center high mounted stop lamp on trim panel behind rear seat (it is held on with velcro). Disconnect wires and push through holes in shelf.
4. Return to rear compartment. Remove harness from clips on left hinge and fish it out through hole in deck lid at left reflectors (outboard of left back-up lamp).
A piece of string tied to harness being removed will speed installation of replacement harness through deck lid.
5. Install new harness (P/N 12083281) in deck lid. Reconnect all connections, snap all three (3) silver clips on to sheet metal edges, and place harness in clips on hinge.
6. Push wire up into center high mounted stop lamp housing. Enter passenger compartment, reconnect wires and reinstall cover.
7. Check for proper operation of center high mounted stop lamp, back-up lamp and license plate lamps.
8. Install Campaign Identification Label.
CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL
Each vehicle corrected in accordance with the instructions outlined in this Product Campaign Bulletin will require a "Campaign Identification Label". Each label provides a space to include the five (5) digit dealer code of the dealer performing the campaign service. This information may be inserted with a typewriter or a ball point pen.
Each "Campaign Identification Label" is to be located on the radiator core support in an area which will be visible when the vehicle is brought in for periodic servicing by the owner.
Apply "Campaign Identification Label" only on a clean dry surface.
CLAIM INFORMATION
Submit a Product Campaign Claim with the information indicated below:
* Campaign Administrative Allowance
** The "Parts Allowance" should be the sum total of the current GMSPO Dealer Net price plus 30% of all parts required for the repair.
Dealers will automatically receive the correct labor and material allowance based on the labor operation performed.
