When overhauling the automatic transaxle assembly, installing a snap ring between the low/reverse brake plate assembly and the brake hub (Figure 1) will make reassembly easier. This snap ring is included in the transaxle overhaul kit, but is not installed in the transmission during initial assembly by the factory.
