Radio/Stereo: Service and Repair

When installing radio, be sure to adjust antenna trimmer for peak reception. Also, be sure to connect speaker before applying power to radio.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove glove compartment, then through glove compartment opening, disconnect temperature control cable(s) at temperature door(s).
3. Remove radio and heater and A/C control panel to instrument panel attaching screws.
4. Carefully pull radio and heater and A/C control assembly from instrument panel. Disconnect electrical connectors and vacuum hoses from radio and heater and A/C control.
5. Remove knobs and trim plate from heater and A/C control.
6. Remove radio from mounting bracket.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Adjust heater and A/C temperature control cable(s).
