Headlamp: Service and Repair










Tool Required
J 25300-B Headlamp Aimer

Remove or Disconnect

1. Open hood.
2. Turn headlamps "ON."
3. Headlamp motor wire on outer side of headlamp.
4. Turn headlamps "OFF." Disconnected lamp should stay open.
5. Negative battery cable.
6. Electrical connectors.
7. Release headlamp wiring harnesses from retainers.
8. Two headlamp assembly retaining screws at front of headlamp assembly.
9. Headlamp assembly bracket from hood hinge fasteners.
10. Four nuts attaching headlamp assembly to hood, along with hood hinge bracket.
11. Headlamp assembly from vehicle.
12. Four headlamp bezel screws and bezel.
13. Four headlamp support screws and headlamp support.

Install or Connect

1. Headlamp support and four support screws.

Tighten
Support screws to 9.5 N.m (84 lb. in.)

2. Headlamp bezel and four bezel screws.

Tighten
Bezel mounting screws to 5.7 N.m (50 lb. in.)

3. Headlamp assembly into vehicle.
4. Headlamp assembly bracket and four nuts attaching headlamp assembly to hood.

Tighten
Nuts to 9.5 N.m (84 lb. in.)

5. Headlamp assembly bracket to hood hinge fasteners.
6. Two headlamp assembly retaining screws at front of headlamp assembly.

Tighten
Retaining screws to 2.7 N.m (24 lb. in.)

7. Headlamp wiring harnesses to retainers.
8. Electrical connectors.
9. Negative battery cable.
10. Turn headlamps "ON."
11. Headlamp motor connector.
12. Turn headlamps"OFF" and make sure they lower.
13. Close hood.
