SUBJECT: PRODUCT EMISSIONS CAMPAIGN 90C28 REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT


TO: Service & Customer Satisfaction Managers DAC Managers


GOAL: To inspect and correct all units involved as indicated in the attached Product Campaign Bulletin.


ACTION: Dealers are to inspect and/or repair the vehicles as described in the bulletin.

It has been determined that certain 1990 Chevrolet Caprice Station Wagons (Federal Only) were built with steel rather than aluminum rear bumper reinforcements. Because of this, these vehicles are outside of their vehicle test weight class.

To correct this condition dealers are to install aluminum bumper reinforcements in place of the current steel bumper reinforcements according to the instructions contained in the bulletin.

Parts required to complete this campaign are to be obtained through General Motors Service Parts Operations (GMSPO).



The attached prorate sheet indicates the number of vehicles involved in each Branch.
