Subject: PRODUCT EMISSIONS CAMPAIGN 90C28 REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT
Model and Year: 1990 CHEVROLET CAPRICE STATION WAGONS (Federal Only)
TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS
General Motors has determined that certain 1990 Chevrolet Caprice Station Wagons (Federal Only) were built with steel rather than aluminum rear bumper reinforcements. Because of this, these vehicles fail to meet emission certification weight class restrictions.
To correct this condition, dealers are to install aluminum bumper reinforcements in place of the current steel bumper reinforcements.
