Engine Lift Bracket - Front:

Engine Lift Bracket - Rear:

Remove or Disconnect

1. Battery negative cable from battery.
2. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
3. Drain coolant.
4. Drain oil from engine.
5. Complete exhaust system.
6. Propeller shaft.
7. Suitably support transmission.
8. Driveline support beam.
9. Transmission from vehicle.
10. Refer to Clutch for removal of the following parts:
- Clutch actuator cylinder.
- Left side converter shield.
- Clutch housing cover.
- Clutch cover and disc.
11. Install lift hook J 37307-2 to rear of engine.
12. AIR tube center section from AIR hose and oil pan.
13. Oxygen sensors.
14. Power steering lower hose at oil cooler.
15. Battery negative cable from cylinder case.
16. Nuts retaining engine mounts to drivetrain and suspension frame.
17. Lower vehicle.
18. Air cleaner assembly and duct.
19. Engine oil cooler lines from oil filter housing.
20. Raise rear of engine.
21. Loosen fuel tank filler cap.
22. Release fuel pressure at fuel rail.
23. Fuel lines from fuel rail.
24. Evaporator housing panel and resistor.
25. Bolts retaining right bulkhead connector.
26. Engine right side wiring harness.
27. Instrument panel right lower sound insulator panel.
28. Bulkhead wiring harness connectors under dash.
29. Air bleed hose at plenum.
30. Radiator upper hose.
31. Radiator lower hose.
32. Power steering pump vacuum lines.
33. Discharge A/C system.
34. A/C suction/discharge line flange from compressor.
35. A/C compressor to accumulator line at the accumulator.
36. A/C accumulator and set aside.
37. A/C accumulator bracket from vehicle.
38. Power steering pressure line at the power steering gear.
39. Throttle body linkage shield.
40. Throttle body cable to plenum retainers.
41. Accelerator and cruise control cables from throttle body.
42. Install lift hook J 37307-1 to front of engine.
43. ECM from ECM bracket.
44. Harness connectors from ECM.
45. Left front fender. Refer to Section 10-5, "Body Front End."
46. Battery positive cable from battery.
47. Battery hold down clamp.
48. Battery from vehicle.
49. Engine left-hand bulkhead block connector.
50. Engine. wiring harness fusible links at junction block.
51. Engine harness connectors from:
- Secondary injector modules.
- Battery positive cable at junction block.
- Differential pressure switch vacuum and electrical connectors.
- A/C cutout relay.
- A/C high blower relay.
- Transmission shift solenoid relay.
- Fuel pump fuse.
- Forward lamp link connector.
- Battery positive lead.
- A/C blower resistor.
- A/C pressure sensors.
- A/C cooling fan switch.
- Windshield washer pump.
- Low coolant sensor.
- Blower motor.
- ESC knock sensor.
- ESC knock sensor relay.
52. Hose from vacuum pump.
53. Front and rear vacuum connections.
54. Reposition engine harness out of way.
55. Braided ground strap from left-hand frame rail.
56. Reposition positive battery cable Out of way.
57. Left-hand plenum panel screen.
58. Brake booster vacuum hose.
59. Wiper motor from vehicle.
60. MAP sensor and MAP sensor bracket from plenum.
61. AIR hose from left exhaust manifold.
62. Engine from vehicle.
63. Transfer parts to new engine as necessary.
- Oil level indicator tube.
- Left and right exhaust manifolds.
- Left and right converter heat shields.
- Left and right wire pack heat shields.
- Left and right engine mounts.
