KEY REPLACEMENT

If the ignition key is lost and the mechanical code is unknown, the mechanical code must be determined using current key replacement procedures. The mechanical code must be cut on a blank designed for use with the theft deterrent system.
The resistance value of a key can be determined by using VATS Interrogator Tool J 35628. The key blank and resistor pellet are not serviceable separately. There are 15 different ignition key assemblies, each with a different resistance value.
