Knee Diverter: Service and Repair

1. Deactivate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION.
2. Remove lower trim panel.
3. Remove console side trim panel LH upper two screws. Rotate access panel down to remove two knee bolster retaining bolts.
4. Remove knee bolster inner and outer bracket retaining screws.
5. Disconnect lap air outlet duct from lower duct assembly.
6. Remove knee bolster.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque bolster inner mounting bolts to 116 inch lbs.
b. Torque bolster outer mounting bolts to 17 ft. lbs.
c. Following installation, activate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION.
d. Turn ignition switch to the On position and verify the proper operation of ``INFL REST'' lamp.
