Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove plenum as described under PLENUM ASSEMBLY.
3. Discharge A/C system, then remove A/C compressor.
4. Disconnect spark plug wires from coil pack, then remove bolts attaching ignition coil pack to ventilation cover and cylinder case.
5. Disconnect electrical connectors, then remove ignition coil pack assembly.
6. Disconnect vacuum hoses from vacuum reservoir, then remove reservoir attaching nuts and reservoir.
7. Disconnect vacuum hoses and electrical connector from vacuum solenoid, then remove vacuum solenoid attaching screw and vacuum solenoid.
8. Disconnect vacuum hoses from secondary port throttle actuators, then remove actuator to bracket attaching nuts and retaining clips and remove actuators.
9. Remove actuator bracket to control cover attaching screws, then remove covers.
10. Disconnect links from lever assemblies.
11. Disconnect electrical connectors from coolant temperature sensor and cooling fan switch, then remove sensor and switch from injector housing.
12. Disconnect hoses from ventilation cover, then remove ventilation cover attaching screws and ventilation cover, Fig. 28.
13. Remove cylinder case ventilation baffle attaching screws, then remove baffle, Fig. 29.
14. Reverse procedure to install. Prior to installing coolant sensor and cooling fan switch, apply Loctite 565 or equivalent to threads.
