Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

(Perform before beginning System Diagnosis)

1. Check for open Cruise Fuse and/or CKT 805.

2. Check for proper tire pressure with tires cold at each wheel. If a "LOW" pressure condition is found, add air, recycle Ignition and drive vehicle to confirm proper operation of Low Tire Pressure Warning System.

3. Check for an open Wiper Motor jumper harness capacitor (See Wiper/Washer schematic).

4. If "LOW TIRE PRESSURE" Indicator or "SERVICE LTPWS" Indicator stays "ON" after Ignition "ON" but before the vehicle has been moved, check for short to Battery in the Lamp Pigtail Assembly. If OK, replace Low Tire Pressure Indicator Module Assembly.

5. If "LOW TIRE PRESSURE" Indicator lights intermittently without recycling the Ignition, replace Low Tire Pressure Indicator Module Assembly.

6. A loss of pressure which occurs when the vehicle is parked cannot be detected until the vehicle moves.
