Turn Signals: Description and Operation
The Stop Lights also serve as the rear Turn Lights. If the Turn Left Switches in the Turn/Hazard Switch Assembly are closed to the left, the left Stop Light comes on. It gets battery voltage through the Turn Flasher, the Hazard Switch, the Turn Left Switch and the YEL wire. The LH Front Turn Light and the LH Turn Indicator also come on. They are fed through the LT BLU wire. The current through the bulbs heats the Turn Flasher. It opens and closes to flash the Left Turn Lights.
The Right Turn Lights operate in a similar way when the Turn Right Switches are closed to the right.
If the Brake Switch is closed at the same time that the Turn Left or Right Switch is closed, the Turn Lights all continue to receive power through the Turn Flasher. The LH Stop/Turn Light at the rear turns on, as long as the Brake Switch is closed.
