Backup Lamp: Description and Operation

With the Ignition Switch in "RUN," "BULB TEST" or 'START," voltage is applied through the Back Up Fuse to the Transmission Position Switch (Automatic Transmission) or to the Backup Lights Switch (Manual Transmission). Whenever the Gear Selector Lever is shifted to "REVERSE," the Transmission Position Switch or Backup Lights Switch closes and voltage is applied to the Backup Lights.
