Compressor Replacement

Compressor Mounting:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Recover refrigerant.
3. Raise vehicle.
4. Engine splash shield.
5. Serpentine belt.
6. Compressor hose assembly and discard sealing washers.
7. With 7 mm wrench, remove the stud in the back of the compressor. The stud was only necessary for assembly line purposes. Discard the stud.
8. Clutch electrical connector from compressor.
9. Compressor bolts.
10. Compressor.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Compressor and mounting bolts.
2. Serpentine drive belt. Refer to under hood label for routing.
3. Electrical connector.
4. Compressor hose assembly, using new sealing washers.
5. Engine splash shield.
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Negative battery cable.
8. Evacuate and recharge system.
9. Leak test.
10. Check system operation.
