Trunk / Liftgate: Description and Operation

Voltage is applied through the CTSY Fuse to the Release Switch at all times. With manual transaxies, when the Release Switch and Park Brake Switch are closed, current flows through the Release Relay coil. The relay operates and current flows through the Release Solenoid to ground.

With automatic transaxies, current flows through the relay coil with the Release Switch closed and the Transaxle Position Switch in PARK or NEUTRAL. The relay energizes and current flows through the Release Solenoid to ground.
