Radio/Stereo: Service and Repair

When installing radio, be sure to adjust antenna trimmer for peak reception. Also, be sure to connect speaker before applying power to radio.

CONTROL PANEL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove transmission gear selector knob.
3. Remove console trim plate attaching screws from under ash tray.
4. Disconnect electrical connectors from console trim plate components, then remove trim plate.
5. Remove screw attaching center air outlet to instrument panel carrier, then remove outlet.
6. Remove screws attaching accessory trim plate to instrument panel.
7. Disconnect electrical connector to engine power switch, then remove accessory trim plate.
8. Remove console door.
9. Remove screws attaching console righthand side trim panel to instrument panel and console. Remove passenger seat from vehicle to gain access to screws at side of trim panel. After all attaching screws have been removed, remove side trim panel.
10. Remove screws attaching radio control to instrument panel.
11. Pull radio control outward, then disconnect electrical connectors and remove radio control.
12. Reverse procedure to install.

RECEIVER
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Open right rear floor storage compartment door, then remove tray.
3. Remove radio receiver by pulling firmly on receiver to separate hook and loop fastener.
4. Disconnect antenna cable extension and electrical connectors.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
