Component Tests and General Diagnostics
PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSISBase Power And Sport Seats: Power Seat Function
1. If one function (Front Height, Rear Height or Forward/Back) is totally or partially inoperative, try changing the respective relay with an adjacent relay (Sport Seats Only).
2. If the Rear or Front Height does not function, but entire seat moves "UP" and "DOWN," replace the Power Seat Switch.
3. If entire seat moves "UP" and "DOWN" normally, but either the Front Height or Rear Height controls do not operate, replace the Power Seat Switch.
4. Make sure ground G202 is clean and tight.
Sport Seats: Lumbar Supports
5. If Seat Pump Motor runs momentarily and then stops, check or pinched or restricted air hoses.
6. If Seat Pump Motor runs constantly without filling an air bladder, check for a disconnected or cut air line.
7. If both seats have the same (Lower, Middle, Upper or Side Bolster) air bladder inoperative, check for an open or short in the wiring between the Seat Select Switch, and the inoperative Seat Solenoids. If OK, replace Seat Select witch.
8. Make sure ground G202 is clean and tight.
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (Refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
^ Refer to System Diagnosis.
