DESCRIPTION
This front caliper, Fig. 1, consists of dual pistons and an aluminum housing which is suspended on the shoe and lining assemblies.

OPERATION
Hydraulic pressure, created by applying force to the brake pedal, acts equally against the pistons and the bottom of the caliper bores to move the pistons outward. This action slides the caliper inward, resulting in a clamping action on the brake rotor. This clamping action forces the linings against the rotor, creating the friction necessary to stop the vehicle.
