Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair

Fig. 17 Stabilizer Bar Replacement:

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
2. Support lower control arm with a suitable jack stand.
3. Remove stabilizer shaft attaching bolts, insulator clamps and brackets from frame, Fig. 17.
4. Remove stabilizer shaft from vehicle.
5. Reverse procedure to install. When tightening stabilizer shaft link attaching bolts and nuts, use jack stands to hold suspension at proper trim height. Refer to Fig. 17 for bolt installation direction.
