Transmission Pressure Control Solenoid (Auto Trans Only)
Transmission Pressure Control Solenoid:
Transmission Pressure Control Solenoid Circuit Diagram:
DESCRIPTION
The transmission pressure control solenoid provides for computer control of the transmission fluid line pressure.
OPERATION
The PCM compares Throttle position sensor voltage, engine speed, and other inputs to determine the appropriate line pressure for a given load. The PCM then regulates the line pressure by varying the current through the pressure control solenoid. The PCM monitors the current at both sides of the solenoid to determine if there is a circuit problem. If the current at the "LOW" side is different from the applied current by more than 0.16 amp, a trouble code will set and full line pressure will be applied. If this occurs, will likely cause harsh upshifts.
