DESCRIPTION
This rear caliper, Fig. 1, has a single bore and is mounted to the support bracket with two mounting bolts. Hydraulic pressure, created by applying force to the brake pedal, is converted by the caliper into friction. The hydraulic pressure is applied equally against the piston and the bottom of the caliper bore moving the piston outward and the caliper housing inward, resulting in a clamping action on the brake rotor.

OPERATION
The caliper includes an integral parking brake mechanism. When the parking brake is applied, the lever turns an actuator screw which is threaded into a nut in the caliper piston. As the actuator screw turns, the piston is forced out, applying force on the rotor. The piston contains a self-adjusting mechanism to keep the parking brake in proper adjustment and to ensure proper clearance when the parking brake is released.
