Interior Lamps

CIRCUIT OPERATION
Voltage is applied at all times from CTSY Fuse to each component in the circuit. The Dome and Reading Lamp circuits are completed through the Light Switch or any Door Jamb Switch. The Underhood and Luggage Compartment Lamps have a Mercury Switch built into the assembly which closes to ground when the Hood or Trunk Lid is opened. The instrument panel Compartment Light and Cigar Lighter are connected to ground through individual switches (see wiring diagrams).

LIGHT SHORT TEST
With all the doors closed and the Headlight Switch turned off, disconnect the Door Jamb Switches and the Headlight Switch one at a time.

^ If the lights go out when a particular switch is disconnected, replace that switch.

^ If the lights remain lit with all switches disconnected, repair short to ground in CKT 156.
