Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights Dimming
1. Make sure Park Lights turn "ON" and "OFF" normally before proceeding with diagnosis, refer to Exterior Lights for Park Lamp diagnosis.2. Check PANEL Fuse and TAIL Fuse by visual inspection.
3. If Instrument Panel Lights stay "ON" all the time, but Park Lights operate normally, repair short to B+ in CKT 8.
4. If one lamp does not operate, check the GRY and BLK wires to suspect lamp for opens, bent terminals, etc. If OK, replace lamp bulb (see wiring diagrams).
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
