Troubleshooting Hints

Perform before beginning System Diagnosis
1. Check Inline Fuse A by operating the Horn.
2. Check for mechanical binds in the Door Lock System.
3. If one or more of the Door Lock Motors do not operate properly but the other Door Lock Motors function normally, check the wiring to the motors. If the wiring is OK, replace the motor.
4. If Inline Fuse A blows when a power Door Lock Switch is activated, check CKT 194, CKT 195, Door Unlock Module and Multi-function Alarm Module for a short to ground.
5. If a motor's internal circuit breaker trips, it will not reset until voltage is removed from the motor.
6. If the Circuit Breaker 15 trips when a Power Door Lock Switch is activated, check CKT 295 and CKT 294 for a short to ground.
7. If Electronic PRNDL does not operate, Refer to 8A-85
8. If LH Front Door Lock is the only inoperative lock, and the vehicle is equipped with the Keyless Entry Feature, see page 8a-132 for diagnosis.
