Passenger Compartment - Cold Air/Engine Noise

Cold Air Entering Passenger Compartment/Engine Noise (Add Foam)
MODELS:
1995 Chevrolet Lumina, Monte Carlo
CONDITION
Some customers may comment that their vehicle has:
1. Cold air entering the vehicle around the glove box, air enters right hand lower "A" pillar.
2. Cold air enters the vehicle at the left hand side lower "A" pillar.
3. High engine noise level in the passenger compartment, either side of the vehicle.
CAUSE
Insufficient foam in the left hand and/or right hand motor compartment side rail.
CORRECTION
Fill the rear portion of the motor compartment side rail with foam, following procedure below.
Single Part Material
This material is available from most local hardware or building supply stores under a variety of trade names. It is available in 12 to 24 ounce cans and includes a straw type nozzle for "hard to reach" areas. As always, follow the manufacturer's recommendations for application and safety.
Procedure
1. Remove the tire and fender splash shield.
2. Install expandable foam in the motor compartment side rail, through the 2" x 2" slot,
see Figure 1, Number 1. Fill the shadowed area,
see Figure 1, Number 2.
Important:
Allow the material to cure fully before the vehicle is driven.
3. Reinstall the fender splash shield and tire.
