While the theft deterrent system is armed, the BCM monitors the shock sensor and door jamb and rear compartment lift window panel switches for activity. If an alarm is required, the BCM sounds the horns, flashes the parking lamps for 2 minutes and disables the starter, the fuel system and the remote lift window release switch. It also controls horn chirps and parking lamp flashes for locking and arming functions.
