Automatic Adjuster

DISABLE PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle and support.
2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly.





3. Disconnect the park brake cable from the apply lever.
4. Lower the vehicle.





5. Reposition carpet away from park brake handle.
6. With the assistance of another technician, pull the disconnected park brake cable downward until it is fully extended and install a rivet, drill bit, zip-tie or cotter key through the lined up holes in the park brake lever. Do not overextend the cable.

ENABLE PROCEDURE
1. Connect the park brake cable to the apply lever.
2. Remove the rivet, drill bit, zip tie, cotter key from the park brake lever.
3. Install the carpet to its original position.
4. Raise the vehicle.
5. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
- Tighten the wheel nuts in sequence to 140 Nm (100 ft. lbs.).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Cycle the park brake lever up and down three times for auto adjustment.
