Blower Motor: Service and Repair

#5 = Resistor:

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Unplug the blower motor before removal. Blower motor case contact with any ground may start the fan and cause personal injury.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.

2. Remove the passenger floor hush panel.

3. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connections (2).

4. Remove the cooling tube.

5. Remove the screws attaching the blower motor to the Evaporator and Heater Core Module.

6. Remove the blower motor and fan from the module.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the blower motor and fan to the module.

2. Install the screws attaching the blower motor to the module.

- Tighten the blower motor mounting screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb. in).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Connect the cooling tube.

4. Connect the electrical connections (2).

5. Install the passenger floor hush panel.

6. Connect the negative battery cable.
