Growl Noise In Steering Pump

EXCESSIVE BACK PRESSURE IN HOSES OR STEERING GEAR CAUSED BY RESTRICTION.
^ Inspect and service as needed.
THE POWER STEERING PUMP MOUNTING BOLTS ARE LOOSE.
^ Torque the power steering pump mounting bolts to proper specifications.
THE PRESSURE PLATES, THRUST PLATE OR ROTOR IS SCORED.
^ Inspect and replace as needed.
THE PUMP RING IS WORN.
^ Inspect and replace as needed.
