Keyless Entry System Operation
The Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) System allows the driver to operate the vehicle Door Lock and Unlock, Illuminated Entry Lights and Rear Compartment Lid Release from outside the vehicle using a hand held Radio Transmitter. The Transmitter operates in the UHF band; it sends digitally coded signals to the
Remote Control Door Lock Receiver. The Remote Control Door Lock Receiver detects and decodes the signals and issues signals to control the Door Locks and Rear Compartment Lid Release. These systems can also be operated in the usual manner; for instance, the Door Locks will respond to the Door Lock Switches.
