Component Tests and General Diagnostics

1. If none of the seat functions operate, check the POWER SEAT Circuit Breaker D. If open, check CKT 340 for a short to ground. If OK, check CKT 340 for an open or poor connection between the Fuse Block and the Driver Seat Adjuster Switch.
2. If the Rear Height or Front Height Switch does not function but the entire seat moves up and down, check for a poor connection. If OK, replace the Driver Seat Adjuster Switch.
3. If the entire seat does not move up and down but the real and front height functions operate properly, check for a poor connection. If OK, replace the Driver Seat Adjuster Switch.
4. Check that ground G302 (Chevrolet) or G301 (Oldsmobile) is clean and tight.
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
