Wiper Control Module: Service and Repair

Remove or Disconnect
1. Wiper arm assemblies from vehicle.
2. Hose (16) from nipple (17).
Important
^ Air inlet shroud is two pieces. Use care not to break air inlet shroud during removal.
3. Thirteen screws (18) and air inlet shroud (19) from vehicle.
4. Negative battery cable from battery.
5. Connectors (20) from wiper motor assembly (23).
A. Pull two retainers (G) out of two connectors (20).
B. Disconnect two connectors (20) from wiper motor assembly (23).
6. Three screws (26 and 27) and wiper drive system module (32) from vehicle.

Install or Connect

NOTICE: Refer to Service Precautions.

1. Wiper drive system module (32) on vehicle with three screws (27 and 26).

Tighten
^ Two screws (26) to 12 N.m (106 lb. in.).

^ Screw (27) to 12 N.m (106 lb. in.).
2. Two connectors (20) to wiper motor assembly (23).
3. Two retainers (C) in connectors (20).
4. Air inlet shroud (19) on vehicle with thirteen screws (18).
Important
^ Lubricate hose with windshield washer solvent to ease installation on nozzle.
5. Hose (16) to nipple (17).
6. Negative battery cable to battery.
7. Wiper arm assemblies on vehicle.

Inspect
^ Park position. Both wiper arms must be against park ramps (14).
^ Wipe pattern. Dimension E should be 55 - 132 mm (2-1/8 - 5-1/8 in.) from top of driver's side wiper blade assembly (12) on outerwipe to edge of glass.
^ Correct park position and outerwipe dimension are determined with the wipers operating at low speed on wet glass.
