Trunk / Liftgate: Description and Operation

WITHOUT KEYLESS ENTRY
When the vehicle is in the PARK position and the rear compartment lid release switch (Trunk) is activated, the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid is charged, releasing the rear compartment. When the vehicle is in a NON-PARK position the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid is inactive and the rear compartment cannot be released.

WITH KEYLESS ENTRY
When the vehicle is in PARK and the REAR COMPARTMENT button on the RKE Transmitter is pressed, the switch in the RCDLR closes, which in turn energizes charges the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid. When the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid is energized the rear compartment releases. When the vehicle is in a NON-PARK position, the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid is inactive and the rear compartment cannot be released.
