CHANGE OIL SOON Indicator
The CHANGE OIL SOON indicator is controlled by the Powertrain control Module
(PCM). The PCM considers mileage and driving habits to determine when the CHANGE OIL SOON indicator should be turned on. After the oil is changed the indicator can be reset by pressing the accelerator pedal to the floor and releasing 3 times with the ignition switch in the RUN position and the engine off. If the indicator then flashes 3 times and goes out, the reset worked OK. If the indicator remains on, it must be reset again. For more information refer to
Engine Controls.
