Parking Brake System: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the following components:
^ The two screws
^ The two bolts
^ The rear center console

3. Remove the two park brake lever bolts.
4. Disconnect the park brake switch electrical connector (4).
5. Remove one screw and the park brake switch from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the park brake switch to the vehicle. Secure the switch using the one screw.
2. Connect the park brake switch electrical connector (4).
3. Install the two park brake lever bolts.
^ Tighten the park brake lever bolts to 13 Nm (115 in. lbs.).

4. Install the following components:
^ The rear center console
^ The two bolts
^ The two screws

5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Starting and Charging.
