Vehicle Speed Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the VSS electrical connector (1).




2. Remove the one bolt (2).
3. Remove the VSS from the transmission.
4. Inspect the VSS O-ring for cuts or damage. Replace as necessary.

Installation Procedure
1. Apply J 36850 or equivalent to the VSS O-ring.
2. Install the VSS into the transmission.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.




3. Install the one bolt (2).

Tighten
Tighten the VSS hold down bolt to 9.3 N.m (82 lb in).




4. Connect the VSS electrical connector (1).
